Bensalem Township Parks and Recreation is introducing a new outdoor field hockey program which will be held this summer at the Bensalem Community Park hockey rink. This program is open to girls grades K through 10th and designed to enhance skills for those already playing or interested in playing “indoor field hockey”. Although participants will be playing in an outdoor rink, this version of field hockey will simulate “indoor” field hockey. Athletes will learn vital skills needed to excel in the sport of field hockey such as dribbling, passing, and shooting. This camp will introduce girls to a faster paced game with increased dribbling, passing and shooting as well as a whole lot of fun while fine tuning skills for those girls who are preparing to play field hockey for fall school teams or clubs. The program will end just prior to the preseason for middle schools and high schools and will be conducted by a current certified field hockey club coach! You bring your shin pads, mouth guards and stick if you have them and wear your sneakers! Don’t have a stick! No worries plenty of loaner sticks will be available for those without sticks. Come on out and join us Saturdays in the summer beginning July 8th 2023 at 9:00 am for grades K-5 and 10:00 am for grades 6-10. Program will end on August 12, 2023. Cost for this 6-week program is $50.00 For registration form to be mailed call 215-633-3616 and leave mailing address and contact information or stop in the Parks and Recreation Department located at 2400 Byberry Road Bensalem for in person registrations.
