My mailbox was damaged by the snowplow. Who do I contact?

Contact the Public Works Department at 215-633-3980.

Here’s how the process works:

* If it is determined that the plow working on a street owned by Bensalem Township hit the mailbox, the Township will provide a temporary mailbox until it can be fixed. If the mailbox cannot be fixed, the property owner can choose to either purchase (receipt necessary) a new mailbox or have the Township purchase materials to replace the mailbox and/or post up to a value of $60.00. Residents who live on a State Highway (meaning your road is not plowed by Bensalem Township but by PADot) you will have to contact PADot directly at 215-345-6060.

* If it is determined that the mailbox was knocked down by the snow being expelled    from the plow, it’s the property owner’s responsibility to repair.

* MAILBOX DAMAGE MUST BE REPORTED WITHIN 48 HRS OF THE SNOW STORM!
