Bensalem Township will be accepting contractor prequalification documents, and for those contractors that are approved as prequalified, proposals for the following project:
· INSTALLATION OF PREFABRICATED BRIDGES
· DEMOLITION OF EXISTING CULVERTS
Contractors must be, at minimum S4 (Bridge Culverts, Pedestrian Bridges, Timber Bridges) qualified, by PennDOT for STRUCTURES (Bridges), to bid on this project. Contractors who are interested can attend a pre-bid meeting scheduled for Wednesday, February 15, 2023 between 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Bensalem Township Country Club, 2000 Brown Avenue, Bensalem, PA 19020.
Sealed proposals will be received at the Township Building, 2400 Byberry Road, Bensalem PA 19020, until 2:00 P.M., Thursday , March 2, 2023. The bids shall be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 PM, same day, for the following:

Specifications, bid proposal forms, contract form and instructions to bidders may be obtained at the Bensalem Township Building, 2400 Byberry Road, Bensalem, PA 19020 between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Questions should be directed to the Township Engineer.
Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a Certified Check or Bid Bond, in an amount not less than 10 percent (10%) of the total bid and made payable to Bensalem Township, PA. Prevailing wages apply to this contract.
The successful Bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or handicap.
Bids shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope, marked on the outside “BID PROPOSAL FOR 2023 GOLF COURSE BRIDGES REPLACEMENT PROJECT”.

Bensalem Traffic Signal Maintenance

The Bensalem Township will receive sealed bids in triplicate for the 2023-2025 Bensalem Traffic Signal Maintenance Contract. The bids will be publicly opened and read on February 9th, at 2:15 p.m. The scope of work generally includes preventative maintenance and on-call repair services for all Traffic Signal equipment throughout the Township. The bid will be for furnishing all labor, materials, supervision, and services associated with this Project. Additional maintenance items could include the application of Hot Thermoplastic and Epoxy paint for roadway pavement markings and legends. The bid will be for furnishing all labor, materials, supervision, and services associated with this Project. Bids will be accepted until February 9th, at 2:00 p.m. prevailing time, at the Bensalem Township Building, 2400 Byberry Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.

All questions shall be directed in writing to Kyle Miller. All bidders must register with, and obtain Contract Documents from, Traffic Planning and Design. If a hard copy is desired, a non-refundable fee, plus a mailing fee will be charged to bidders wishing to receive the documents by mail. Only registered bidders will receive notification of Addendums to the bid documents. Failure to register as a prospective bidder will result in Addendums not being received which may result in a rejected bid.
Proposals must be sealed and addressed to Bensalem Township, 2400 Byberry Road, Bensalem, PA 19020 and be marked “Sealed Bid - Bensalem Traffic Signal Maintenance Project” on the envelope.
Bids are to be submitted on the forms furnished in the bid package. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bidder’s bond, certified check or cashier’s check, in favor of Bensalem Township, in the amount of not less than 10% of the total amount of the bid. The successful bidder shall be bound to furnish and pay for a Performance Bond and a Labor & Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, on bond forms provided by Bensalem Township.
All bidders must be PennDOT pre-qualified. This contract is in accordance with the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act, and the successful bidder shall pay no less than the Wage Rates determined for the project as stated in the Contract documents. There is a zero percent (0%) requirement for MBE and/or WBE participation.
Award of the Contract, if the contract is awarded, will be to the lowest responsible bidder, however Bensalem Township reserves the right to reject any and or all bids on any basis and to waive any informality in the bidding, as permitted by law. No bidder may withdraw a bid after the actual date of the opening thereof. Bidders must submit with their bids, the non-collusion affidavit contained in the contract documents.
