My mailbox was damaged by the snowplow. Who do I contact?
Contact the Public Works Department at 215-633-3980 or 215-633-3980.
Here’s how the process works:
If it is determined that the plow working on a street owned by Bensalem Township hit the mailbox, the Township will provide a temporary mailbox until it can be fixed. If the mailbox cannot be fixed, the property owner can choose to either purchase (receipt necessary) a new mailbox or have the Township purchase materials to replace the mailbox and/or post up to a value of $60.00. Residents who live on a State Highway (meaning your road is not plowed by Bensalem Township but by PADot) you will have to contact PADot directly at 215-345-6060.
If it is determined that the mailbox was knocked down by the snow being expelled from the plow, it’s the property owner’s responsibility to repair.
MAILBOX DAMAGE MUST BE REPORTED WITHIN 48 HRS OF THE SNOW STORM!
