FIRE OPERATIONS
Bensalem Fire Rescue staffs an Engine Company and Special Service Monday thru Friday between the hours of 7:00 am & 5:00 pm (including holidays) and respond to all fire, rescue, and hazardous material related incidents and assists Bensalem EMS with providing QRS (Quick Response Service) on medical incidents. The firefighters are supervised by a Battalion Chief that is responsible for maintaining proper staffing and resources for each shift, Incident Command, and fire investigations.
Our Firefighters hold numerous nationally and state recognized certifications including Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazardous Materials Technicians, EMT, Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator, Fire Officer I, and Fire Plans Review. In addition, the Firefighters are certified in the following technical rescue disciplines: Basic Vehicle Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Trench Rescue, Ropes and Riggings and Structural Collapse.
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Fire Commissioner's Office has recognized Bensalem Fire Rescue as one of 41 fire departments statewide (one of five fire departments in Bucks County) with the States Gold Standard Certification. These standards are set based on nationally recognized training accredited by the National Pro-Board and the Gold Standard represents 100% staff certified.
